We close the year, as is tradition, with a review of what 2023 has in store for our company. To do so, we rely on the words of our Sales Director Emilio Mottolini, who sums up what has been and gives us an outlook on what could be the dynamics of a 2024 that is now just around the corner.
Let's start with an analysis of 2023: despite the challenges the industry has faced, we can say that Salumificio Mottolini continues to grow. What were the key success factors that contributed to this result?
Certainly, our growth in 2023 is the result of several factors. Firstly, we have focused our efforts on product quality, placing particular emphasis on the supply chain and the selection of raw materials. Our philosophy has always been to offer innovative and excellent products, and this approach has certainly contributed to customer loyalty and the acquisition of new customers.
Speaking of new products, Salumificio Mottolini has introduced several new products to the market this year: two examples are La Chianina and L'Irlandese. Can you tell us about these new proposals and how they fit into the company's overall strategy?
We have selected reliable partners and have established close cooperation with them, in particular with the Azienda Agricola San Giobbe in the heart of the Val di Chiana where, in a new facility and with more than a thousand hectares at their disposal, more than three thousand Chianina cattle are bred with wisdom and respect.
For L'Irlandese, we have selected three suppliers who guarantee us a good quantity of meat from animals bred in places with special quality standards in terms of animal welfare.
We focused on products that highlight the origin of the raw materials, promoting transparency in the supply chain.
At a time when sustainability is at the centre of global concerns, how is Salumificio Mottolini preparing for a future marked by social responsibility and sustainability?
Sustainability is a key priority for us. We are working on several fronts to reduce our environmental impact. These include the renovation of our thermal power plant, which means high energy savings, as well as the implementation of the company's photovoltaic system, which allows us greater production capacity. Outside the company, we are optimising production processes and adopting sustainable practices up and down the supply chain.
In addition, we are, as always, launching local initiatives to contribute to the wellbeing of the community. Among these, I am pleased to mention the close collaboration with local associations to combat poverty and in favour of associations dedicated to people with disabilities, as well as the support given to organisations that in turn support workers with children and many cultural activities and associations in our province.
A concrete commitment, with the will to be more and more a reference for the territory.
Looking to the future, what are the long-term perspectives and goals of Salumificio Mottolini?
Looking ahead to 2024, we intend to consolidate our market presence by maintaining high quality standards and focusing on an increasingly sustainable approach. We are focusing on innovation, both at product and process level, in order to remain at the forefront and meet the evolving expectations of consumers.
We also believe that for the next few years it will be crucial to work in synergy with the local area, even between companies in the same sector. We have important challenges in new markets with great development potential that could give impetus to the entire sector, I am thinking of the USA, Japan and many emerging countries that are increasingly attracted by the excellence of Italian products.
We look forward to these challenges!
